Patterson Hall
Columbia, SC

Originally completed in 1965, Patterson Hall underwent a major renovation in 2011. The existing antiquated dormitory building was completely demolished back to the structural frame. The suite-style dormitory rooms, housing 560 students, and associated living support areas created a modern dormitory meeting current trends in university housing. The facility , in pursuit of the University's commitment to sustainable design, is certified LEED Gold by the USGBC. Mechanical renovations included chilled water pumping systems, VAV air handlers, four-pipe fan coil units, steam water heaters, ADA restrooms and showers, and fire protection systems.
